A new digital broadcast centre for RBB, Berlin
Berlin's RBB (Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg) put its trust in the project management of T+M for the complete integration of a Mandozzi system for their new transmission facility (SK3). The contract was awarded just before the start of the football world championship series
The project, which had to be completed within an extremely tight time schedule, included the total redevelopment of a multipurpose digital control room, a voice booth, a preparation studio (providing a transfer and editing area for journalists with DIGAS and other systems), and an extension to the central apparatus room. RBB decided on digital audio and routing technology from Swiss company Mandozzi. The mixing desk components, and the switcher installed in the central apparatus room, were selected from the IDEA product series. The project, which included an extensive supply of equipment, was handed over dead on time.
The tight schedule of only 3 weeks installation work generated enthusiasm amongst all who took part. In RBB’s own opinion the project ran, refreshingly, “without a drama;” Head of the Engineering and Operations Department Michael Spading expressed his satisfaction in this fashion with the professional management of the project.
And T+M’s Project Manager Jochen Meierhöfer also praised the excellent cooperation afforded by RBB, and looks forward to future projects together.
