YouFM with new face
Hessischer Rundfunk’s (Radio Hessen) innovative youth channel is celebrating modernisation and new technology for its entire broadcast centre.
All who must daily demonstrate their fresh programming creativity now find themselves in a pleasing environment, equipped with the best in technology to help them in their work. HR thus understood the need to splash out on its youngest radio station, and to provide it with a newly arranged, modern environment. The project found itself in good hands with T+M as, when it’s all about creative solutions, this system house counts amongst the top suppliers.
The resilient furniture in the two on-air studios is designed to be welcoming with cheerful colouring. The flat, open construction creates a certain airiness, an important consideration particularly for programmes with multiple presenters. The core technology of the installation revolves around digital mixing consoles from DHD, supported by a playout system from Management Data and various source systems.
The project had to be carried out alongside continuing production. HR project manager Joachim Jacob was extremely satisfied, not least because his “customers,” the editorial staff, were broadcasting from the new studio before it had really been handed over. Their enthusiasm was too great to wait! With such motivation, the project was also an enormous pleasure for the T+M team.
In his speech on the occasion of the handover of the studios to operations, Head of HF Production and Transmission Engineering for Radio Hessen, Jürgen Goeres-Petry, paid tribute to the outstanding teamwork and the excellent outcome.
