New Central Control Room for DeutschlandRadio Cologne
DLR and ZDF award the contract for a new central control room of their Cologne based operation to T+M
"To be awarded for designing a main control room for a German public broadcaster is like being invited to the cantine of the BBC..." says Hanno Mahr. Insiders of the industry know this old phrase. If you made it into the BBC cantine you were in business.
The central control room is fully digital and based on a Nexus Star Router. The project had to be installed in parallel to the existing analogue main control room, a challenge for both, Thum + Mahr and the users. As principal contractor T+M managed the project and delivered and installed all technology.
The project was handed over on time. Director general Ernst Ehlitz honored the perfect cooperation and the smooth handing over during a celebration.
